Dr. Terri Armfield joined the faculty in the fall of 2004, after earning a DMA in oboe performance and a Theory Certificate from the University of Kentucky. She currently teaches oboe, music theory, aural skills and class piano. Prior to her coming to WCU she studied at the University of Northern Iowa where she received a MMA in oboe performance, and before that she attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music Education.
She studied at the University of Nebraska with Russell Bedford, Robert Probasco, Robert Jenkins, and Kermit Peters; Catherine Paulu of Madison Wisconsin; Tom Barry at the University of Northern Iowa; and with Nancy Clauter at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Armfield has held an oboe position with the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra. She has been a solo artist with that orchestra as well as with the University of Northern Iowa Symphony. She now performs with various ensembles in the community and at Western Carolina University. |
