The Catamount Chamber Singers and Instrumental Ensemble is an auditioned group of sixteen vocalists and eight instrumentalists led by Dr. Bruce Frazier.  The group recently performed a program of popular songs and jazz standards to audiences on the WCU campus, in venues in Western North Carolina, and for public schools in the Southeast region. The 2006 tour culminated in a performance at Disney's Magic Music Days in Disneyworld, Orlando, entertaining the crowd at Cosmic Ray's Café in Tomorrowland.

Repertoire includes a wide variety of music in classical, jazz, and popular music styles, ranging from intricate a cappella arrangements to performances with jazz combo and other instrumental ensembles. The group emphasizes vocal and musical excellence. Current material includes jazz arrangements in tribute to Duke Ellington, featuring such hits as Take the "A" Train, Mood Indigo, Satin Doll, and It don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing.

Since the group was formed in fall, 2000, it has presented public performances to the UNC Vice Chancellors annual meetings, the annual High School Invitation Choral Clinic, and alumni holiday programs in Hendersonville, Flat Rock, and at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. It was an honor for the Catamount Chamber Singers to perform at the Cullowhee Summer Arts Festivals held in 2002 and 2003, sharing the stage with well-known performers such as Dave Sanborn and Manhattan Transfer.
