The School of Music is delighted to provide concerts and programs for area schools, community organizations, and campus events.  There are a variety of ensembles that are eager to perform.  Student touring groups include the Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Catamount Chamber Singers, Gamelan Ensemble, Madrigal Singers and the current production of the Musical Theatre program.  Small ensembles representative of the applied studios are also available.  These groups include the Trumpet Ensemble, French Horn Choir, Trombone Ensemble, Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, Saxophone Quartet, Jazz Combo and the Music Technology Ensemble.  The "Pride of the Mountains" Marching Band provides resources as well.

Members of the music faculty at Western are available for concerts and programs also.  The Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet performs regularly and has presented concerts recently in Russia and the United Kingdom. The WCU Woodwind Quintet performs on campus and in area venues.  Faculty vocalists perform together regularly and our School piano faculty frequently present solo programs.  Individual professors are available for recitals or for consultation with music programs in area schools.

If you are interested in sponsoring a program by one of the School's musical groups or hosting a presentation by School faculty, please contact the music office at 828-227-7242 or by email to sfrizzell@email.wcu.edu.
